A Malaysian in Awe
Yesterday, I think, was by far the best Sunday night I've ever had. Aside from the therapeutic session with the newly bought second-hand sewing machine (I altered an old t shirt - messy and disastrous but wearable still ;P), I watched Gene Kelly's 'An American in Paris'.
Aside from the old school fashion, what got me glued the most was of course, the dance scenes. A little bit of jazz, a little bit of ballet, waltz here and there... it was nice.
*I think Gene Kelly is extremely charming. Not many modern day actors have that kind of charm... the only one I could think of right now is Hugh Jackman.
*The dress that Lise wore during the Black and White Ball, despite of it being a costume, showed that the 'stars' thingy is a repeated trend.
*Some dancers during the dance part wore red and white gowns with huge heart on the chest, shaped by the pattern of the bodice, reminded me of Versace's SS09 dresses with hearts, created by the zippers.
*The look that Gene Kelly had during the dance scene reminded me of a shoot by Peggy Sirota for GQ, the one with James Marsden.
*I'm liking musical more and more!
