I dont care about nasty comments on why Cornell went mainstream and shit. I miss Audioslave, and I am a foreigner when it comes to Soundgarden (should check it out when Im free). His new tracks, some are in a way VERY commercial bordering pop-ish. Havent heard the whole album yet. Cant wait. Cornell really took a gamble with his new album. I applaud him for that.

*I dig most of the stuff that Timbaland touches. But that has nothing to do with his collaboration with Cornell.

*Listening to this track reminded me so much of Linkin Park's Reanimation. I like.

Apple Pie

Im slightly off tonight, posting stuff that are random and slighty out of the usual context of this blog. But what the hey, Buku Conteng is a place where people jot/draw/sketch whatever they like, so Im now jotting (posting) this food related thing here :)
*Buku conteng = sketch book

green apples
apple juice
nuts (mixed perhaps?)
brown sugar
cinnamon powder
corn starch for thickening
burrito / taco / pie crust

Details here. Not going to include the Dulce de Leche though.

Maybe I might try making it during my free time. I dont indulge in desserts or comfort food, but knowing what goes into the food I consume are better than buying them ready made. I hate processed food, so I might skip the last ingredient and ends up eating the mixture only. Haha.

Bear with It!

So I was resting at home and got hold of the remote and minutes after my usual aimless channel surfing, I decided to watch Man Vs Wild. It reminds me so much of Into The Wild. I am loving nature more and more I guess. A perfect example of someone making money being in his own field, using his skills acquired from experiences that some might not even thought might make someone rich. It's useful furthermore, and practical. Yes, the show is slightly pre-planned and all, but then it is the purpose of the show to educate the audience, no? I like how logical things are when he explains why he's doing this and that and why being on this spot might be safer than being over there. Shit like this fascinates me. Personality and character-wise, I think this dude is awesome. His background and all, I wish I had those. Its great to know that he is a motivational speaker as well. The way he overcome things and stuff, those are motivational... If only Im able to watch the series on a regular basis. Knowledge gained might not be useful in the environment I'm in, but a knowledge is a knowledge. Its not a burden (at all) to have some.

Man and Wives

This suddenly popped out of my mind while I was watching Desperate Housewives few days ago.

Kyle McLachlan, Marcia Cross and Kristin Davis. How are they connected?

Let's see...

Shared Soap - Both Davis (Sex and the City, SATC) and Cross (Desperate Housewives, DH) came from a soap opera called Melrose Place.

Female Friends
- Both got their big break acting in a series consisting of women who are best friends.

Good Girls - Both played the 'proper' and 'ladylike' roles in their respective series. (Charlotte was the hopeless romantic, "I believe in true love" chick among three other modern women in SATC. Bree was the OCD Stepford wife of Wisteria Lane in DH)

The Husband - In SATC and DH, Kyle McLachlan played the role of husband to both the actresses. Kyle played the husband (then they went separate ways) of Kristin's Charlotte in SATC. He then played the husband (then they went separate ways, for now) of Marcia's Bree in DH.

Mama mia! - In both series, the mother of both Kyle's characters gave a hard time to both his wives. Charlotte had a problem with McDougal's mom when it comes to inheritance matter. Bree on the other hand suffered the psychotic mama Hodge during her early days when she married Orson.

Splish splash splat

The past IS NOT haunting me. Creep your way in, I dont mind.

I miss my younger days... those were the days I really went mad exploring art and things associated with it. Be it films, paintings, poems, fashion, sculptures... anything creative basically. Things are now coming back, and I am welcoming it with open arms. I guess if one truly like something, theres nothing in this world that can change that and take it away from you.
*I am writing this to remind myself of that drive and excitement I once had. I need it again. Things are getting dull.
*Going to watch Pollock (the movie) again later.
